How to crochet a basic granny square

Hello my dear friends 🙂

Today I will show you how I make my granny squares.

Am I crazy? Hmm, maybe a little bit 🙂
Why? Because I post a tutorial about a basic granny square and there are many other tutorials, videos and … about how to crochet a granny square.

But I want you to show how I make one. Because I found out, that I do it a little bit different.

So lets do it:

Chain 4 with your yarn. Insert your hook in your first chain you made and Slip Stitch to form a loop.

First Round:

As you can see I work along the sides with 3 double crochet and 1 chain and for the corner 3 double crochet, 2 chain and 3 double crochet.

You can increase your granny square with many rounds you only have to follow the scheme of your 3rd round.

You want to do a colorful granny square but hate – like me – all the loose ends when you change your color. Then maybe you should give it a try with a multicolored yarn. All these Granny Squares in the next picture are made from my Schachenmayr Multicolored Yarn.

I wish you all a nice day and see you soon
