How to crochet a hair spiral or corkscrew ponytail holder

Hello my dear friends 🙂 I love hair spirals

In the late 70s and early 80s you saw these retro spirals in almost every ponytail. And now I love it when my cute spirals bounce around with every move my little girls are making.

It is easy and you will have fun to make and wear it.

I used Schachenmayr Bravo yarn with a 3.5 mm hook.

First curly part: chain 32, work 2 hdc in your second chain from your hook and then 2 hdc in each stitch across (=60hdc)

Now chain 20, mark your last chain with a stitch marker – I did not have one so I used a little piece of yarn.

Second curly part: chain 32 – in connection of your 20 chains – work 2 hdc in your second chain from your hook and then 2 hdc in each stitch across until you reach your stitch marker. Slip Stitch in your stitch marker (=60hdc)
Fasten off and weave in your ends.

Done. That was easy and it took me only a few minutes. 🙂 Now you can tie your hair spiral in a bow around your kids pretty ponytail.

You can make these longer or shorter – with more or less chains – or fatter or skinnier – with dc or sc.

Have fun with your hair spirals and have a nice day.
See you soon
