How to crochet a Spider Applique`
I love this applique` of a black spider …. perfect for Halloween but also for scrap-booking, embellishing your hair accessories, hats, pants, shirts …. and so many other things.
I used Schachenmayr Bravo yarn with a 3.5 mm hook.
Body
Chain 4 with your yarn and Slip Stitch into your first chain to form a ring.
Round 1
Chain 3 (this counts for your first double crochet) and work 13 double crochet in your ring. Join with a Slip Stitch in your first double crochet (in your 3rd chain) (=14 dc)
Round 2
Chain 3 (your 1st double crochet) and work 1 double crochet in your 1st double crochet of your previous round. Then work 2 double crochet in each double crochet of your previous round and join with a Slip Stitch in your first double crochet (in your 3rd chain) (=28 dc)
Round 3
Chain 1 and work in single crochet. Work in every 4th double crochet of your previous round 2 single crochet and join with a Slip Stitch (=35 sc)
Round 4
working the legs for your spider
*chain 15 and work with 13 Slip Stitch back to your spiders body (start with your 1st Slip Stitch in your 3rd chain from your hook)
then work 2 single crochet in your 2 single crochet of your previous round*
work 3 times from *to*
now you have 4 legs of your spider – after that work 2 half double crochet in your next single crochet of your previous round and in each of your next 3 single crochet of your previous round work 2 double crochet,
work 2 single crochet and work 4 times from *to* and fasten off.
Head
Chain 4 with your yarn and Slip Stitch into your first chain to form a ring.
Round 1
Chain 3 (this counts for your 1st double crochet) and work 12 double crochet in your ring. Join with a Slip Stitch into your first double crochet (in your 3rd chain) (=13 dc)
Round 2
Chain 1 and work 2 single crochet in each double crochet of your previous round. Join with a Slip Stitch and fasten off (=26 sc)
Finishing
Sew the head of your spider to the body and embroidery the eyes and a red cross on her body.
Enjoy your little spider 🙂
Wish you all a nice day and see you soon
